Great evening...full house, encore, tips were good, and I hit a few high notes (artistically I mean, not pitch-wise). First time with Paul Winsor (bass) and Ray Samuels (harmonica)--they did great. Good turnout of Jimmie Dale Gilmore songwriting seminar friends, United Nations friends, Ray's crew, and we saved some new souls! Big surprise: the act before was early jazz & blues piano man David Keys, but with him was my neighbor and blues guitar luminary Woody Mann--nice coincidence, for sure (Woody played the brilliant part on "Dallas", on my CD). Act following was VOCO--check them out, something special, in my view...

Things went well response wise...although we had a late slot, so Jesse and I got to picking old Doc Watson & Hank tunes in the bar adjoining, and had to be dragged to the stage...uh oh, 50 demerits and three hours of picket duty...

I had my moments...I drove through 50 minutes of one hellacious rainstorm up the Merritt Parkway...visibility about 15 feet...fringes of Hurricane Whomever...ah, pour le sport...

Full house & great energy...Jesse Miller on 2nd guitar, and Noah Shapiro came up to sing harmony on La Ultima Lagrima...success of gig made it easy to get a repeat booking...
